Schedule Options:
- Hybrid (Domestic Students): One day on-site during gallery hours and one remote workday per week.
- Remote (International Students): Fully remote participation is available for students located outside the United States.
About IMUR Gallery
IMUR Gallery is a contemporary art space located in Jersey City, dedicated to showcasing emerging and mid-career artists through innovative exhibitions, programming, and community engagement. We aim to bridge local and global art scenes with a strong commitment to creative experimentation and cultural dialogue.
Internship Overview
We are offering a Graphic Design Internship for the Summer 2025 session. This hands-on opportunity is designed for students or recent graduates who are passionate about design and contemporary art. Interns will play a vital role in developing visual content that shapes the gallery's brand identity.
- Internship Duration: May 30 – August 30, 2025
- Orientation: May 30, 2025 | 2:00–4:00 PM
- Number of Positions Available: 3
- Dress Code: Smart Casual
- Reports to: Project Advisor, Gallery Director
Responsibilities
- Design promotional materials including exhibition flyers, social media graphics, newsletters, signage, and press kits
- Assist in maintaining visual consistency across platforms (Instagram, website, print, etc.)
- Collaborate with the gallery director and artists to develop artwork-based designs for events and exhibitions
- Help prepare and format digital assets for newsletters, web uploads, and marketing campaigns
- Support ongoing branding efforts and brainstorm fresh, engaging visual strategies
- Occasionally assist with photography and video content for documentation
- Assisting Gallery Exhibition Openings, events and workshops
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field
- Must be at least a second-year undergraduate student or higher
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator); bonus if you know Canva, Figma, or Premiere Pro
- Strong eye for layout, typography, and detail
- Passion for contemporary art and visual storytelling
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects independently
- Open-minded, creative, and collaborative
Time Commitment
Minimum of 12 hours per week, with availability for at least 2 days per week.
