Program Details:

• Location: IMUR Gallery, 67 Greene St, Jersey City
• Duration: 2026 (2.12.2026 – 5.14.2026)
• Open to undergraduate students, graduate students, and early-career professionals
• Academic credit may be arranged depending on institution

Schedule Options:

• Hybrid: One day on-site during gallery hours and one remote workday per week.

Internship Categories

1. Curatorial Internship
Focused on exhibition research and development, this internship supports:

• Curatorial research and writing
• Artist communication and coordination
• Exhibition planning, installation support, and documentation
• Archival organization and catalog preparation

Ideal for students or emerging professionals interested in curatorial studies, art history, or contemporary art practice.

2. Communications & Design Internship
Centered on visual communication and public-facing content, this role includes:

• Graphic design for exhibitions and programs
• Social media and digital content creation
• Press materials, newsletters, and visual storytelling
• Branding consistency across platforms

Suitable for candidates with skills in graphic design, visual communication, or media studies.

3. Business & Marketing Internship
This internship provides insight into the operational side of the art world, including:

• Art market research and sales strategy
• Marketing strategy and audience development
• Event coordination and partnerships
• Administrative and gallery operations

Recommended for those interested in art management, arts administration, or cultural entrepreneurship.

4. Artist-in-Practice Internship

Designed for emerging artists seeking professional integration, this internship combines studio practice with gallery-based training.

Participants will:

• Develop new artwork during the internship period
• Work closely with IMUR Gallery’s curatorial team in a professional gallery setting
• Receive mentorship in exhibition preparation, presentation, and installation
• Participate in networking and professional development sessions
• Gain experience in program applications, proposals, and exhibition planning
• Learn about contractual relationships, artist agreements, and professional standards in gallery representation

This track emphasizes the transition from art-making to professional practice, supporting artists in understanding how their work functions within institutional, curatorial, and market contexts.

Selected Artist-in-Practice interns may be considered for:

• Group exhibitions or project presentations
• Public programs or open studios
• Continued collaboration with IMUR Gallery beyond the internship period
